I was looking through pictures of Halloween from a few years back and had that feeling that parents get when they see how fast their children are growing. Stop getting so big, stop changing so much....I miss those chubby cheeks, those silly faces.....This year we are pirates..AHOY!

Sweet Saturday!

This weekend we were outside and had sweet lemonade and brownies. It was cool and beautiful out, clear skies, cool weather.

I'm not sure if I'm a "Fall" person. I've truly never lived in a climate where you experience the change in weather and colors. We continue to wear sandals and tanks all year here. Blue and sand would be our colors. But I try.....

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a local church this weekend and visited their pumpkin patch! It was cool in Florida and a wonderful break from 90 degree weather!

Just a hobby...

My friend Mary Beasley and her friend loved stationary and one night over dinner decided to open up their own business. Palm Beach Ink came to be. Last night was their promising launch! It was wonderful! Lots of pink, preppy and pretty. Check them out as well as Victoria who started The Preppy Goose and makes the sweetest dresses for girls!

Break

I've had a break. Break from Facebook. Brake from long nights reading blogs. Break from sitting in front of the computer. So much has happened since April. Summer, long hot summer days, Niko, disappointment, happiness, school open-house, birthdays......

Love my Marble!

So the counters are in and I really really love them! The kitchen looks clean, and spacious! We added subway tile to finish the cottage look!

Chandelier Change

I loved my crystal chandelier that I had purchased from a mail room add, "$50, What a deal!" But a friend walked in a few weeks ago and mentioned that it seemed too small for the scale of the table and space. So there it went, the search for the right one. I love crystals, but knew my husband would so love something less feminine. So my inquiries took to me to Martha Stewart's lighting line. She sells out of Macy's.com or Capital Lighting. This one comes in white milk glass or jadeite (green glass). I felt the white was a good fit especially with all the color I have in the space!

Delivery!

So the long awaited marble is here! After two, no, three trips to the stone warehouse, we decided on a piece that is beautiful. Many of the carrara marble we saw was very grey and veiny. They finally called and said they had gotten a new lot they thought we would like! Can't wait!

Granite or Marble

So I had a really really hard time deciding which counter surface to install. We currently have granite and now need a small piece 2x7 for the new addition. I really like black honed marble, but it is too dark for my house. I really love love white carrara marble, but it is a bit risky in a kitchen. I've looked at every article or blog written on carrara and people who have it, love it! What to do?I love cote de texas's blog and kitchen, check it out...

Getting There

Here is an update of the kitchen. The new (what I mean is free from my neighbor's kitchen) cabinets, new pantry door custom built by carpenter.

Kitchen Re-Do

So this is my kitchen reno, just to knock out a wall and try to increase counter and storage. Right now behind this wall there is a pantry....
